The City Councillors of Frankfurt approved the
project of a new construction in May 2000. While the bidding file
contained plans to modernise the present Wald Stadium, the City has now
decided on a complete new construction on the site of the present
stadium.
The Municipal Council recommended to the City Councillors to realise the model of the Company Boegl with a moveable roof and a total capacity of 48,000 seats. The building schedule intends the new Stadium to be constructed
between mid-2002 and mid-2005.
